ingredients
- 3 ripe medium bananas, peeled, sliced & frozen overnight
- 1 tbsp matcha green tea powder, unsweetened
- 1/2 cup low fat cow's milk/plant-based milk
- 1/4 cup raw cacao nibs/dark choc chips
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 1/2 tbsp honey (optional)
- coconut flakes/chopped nuts as toppings (optional)
method
- Place frozen bananas, matcha powder, milk, vanilla extract & honey into a food processor.
- Pulse the ingredients first, then continue to process until a smooth/creamy consistency is reached.
- Add cacao nibs/dark choc chips & fold it into the ice cream with a spatula.
- Scoop into bowls/ice cream cone, top with coconut flakes/chopped nuts & serve immediately.
- To achieve a firmer texture, freeze ice cream in a container/baking tin, covered, for 2-3 hours. Best eaten within 4-6 hours after freezing to avoid ice cream getting too icy.
