-matcha chia pudding parfait-
I love chia seeds & I use them ALL the time! They are tiny white/black seeds from the plant
Salvia Hispanica, which is related to the mint. Chia seeds are mini powerhouses packed
with protein (20.7g per 100g), omega-3's (21g per 100g), fibre (41.2g per 100g) & calcium (714mg per 100g).
The texture of chia seeds can take a little getting used to, but they are extremely versatile & a
great addition to many recipes due to its ability to thicken & gel. Chia seeds soaked overnight can
be effortlessly turned into a simple chia pudding perfect for breakfast, snack or as an after-dinner dessert.
This recipe is a simple yet delicious way to reap the benefits of chia seeds & is a quick breakfast
option for those pressed for time in the morning.
*Tip: There are many ways to customize a chia pudding recipe. Apply the ratio of 1/3 cup chia seeds : 1 cup of liquid
to form the base of a chia pudding, then tweak the flavour, texture, colour & nutritional content to your
liking. Blitz the chia seeds prior to mixing with the liquid to obtain a smoother pudding consistency.
